Alderney - part 2

Last night we walked up to the Marais Hall pub for tea. The Marais Hall was owned by the Herivel family until around the 1970s. We had visited this pub last time and the food was great. We were not disappointed this time either except we couldn't finish the steak and Guinness pie.

We were supposed to leave Alderney this morning but last night there was a huge thunderstorm and the fog had rolled in at both Guernsey and Alderney. View from airport towards the sea.
The Aurigny staff provided little information and assistance during the afternoon and decided at 6.30 pm to finally cancel our flight. Then it was a mad scramble to find accommodation. We had contacted the B&B where we had stayed and it looked like they had a room for us. However,  when we opened the door it was obvious that someone else was already using the room. The B&B then rang around and found us alternative accommodation. They paid for the taxi which was lovely of them. So tonight we are staying in what appears to be a converted dairy and hopefully we can fly out around lunch time tomorrow.
