Bonjour - St Malo

Up early this morning to catch the ferry from Jersey to St Malo. The Condor Rapide does the trip in about 1 hr 20 mins but its main claim to fame is that it used to be HMAS Jervis Bay. We had a fantastic crossing with the sea very flat and calm.

Better still the weather gods have started working again and we had a lovely sunny day. :) This was the scene that greeted us as we entered the harbour at St Malo. The Intra Muros is the old walled part of the city and our hotel is near the church.

This afternoon we walked around the ramparts of the Intra Muros and looked at all the gorgeous buildings. Many were destroyed at the end of WW2 and have been rebuilt.

Lovely narrow streets....

As you can see every man and his dog were here today. I had forgotten the French obsession with taking your dog everywhere with you and dodging dog poo when you are walking :(

There are a few rocky outcrops with fortifications.

And it was low tide again!

Tomorrow we are off to Mont Saint Michel.
